I had one of those conversations recently that was, quite honestly, painful. I had to point out the obvious “big picture” scenario when the other person was focusing on the minutia. It took several rounds of back and forth, talking past each other.
Then I thought of this picture, showed it to my conversation partner and asked, “What are you focusing on? The sunset? The ocean? The trees? Or the window screen? Can you see all of them and how they work together to form one picture?
The answer: of course not… and I admitted that I couldn’t do it either. And today, this image comes back to my mind, haunting me, as I try to keep perspective and look at setting some new goals for myself.
BAM.
Time for me to give myself some grace and space to try again…
