Tonight, my thoughts turned to this quote about rhubarb by Joyce Fertig. I LOVE rhubarb with a passion. When my favorite farmer’s market vendor offered it this spring, I bought them out!! Stewed or in a pie… it’s just yummmmm!!! (And if you don’t like it, that means all the more for me!)

But as Joyce points out, it is that tang of rhubarb that makes the sweeter fruits shine… and it occurred to me this evening that it’s kinda like life. Especially right now.

Difficult decisions are tempered with glimpses of love and grace. Hard times are balanced by moments of pure laughter, hope, and answers to prayer. And in all of it, God is with us. Even when we don’t see. Especially when we don’t see.
