The second talk I’m giving this weekend is ‘God Empowers’ — a talk about the Holy Spirit’s work in the believer’s life. I would love to be strong, faithful, a blazing lighthouse shining God’s love and power and overcoming nature…  The problem is, instead of looking or acting like someone with tongues of fire on my head, I’m more like a dim bulb…

This is the STUFF that drives me crazy! And it’s true… “in the middle of my little mess, I forget how big I’m blessed.”

I have learned that whatever it is I’m preaching on, I get a couple of weeks’ worth of “practice” and “sermon illustrations” straight from my own life. Yeah, I could write my own book. It would be funny, if it weren’t so spiritually challenging.

Muddling through… and grateful that grace and forgiveness come so freely from the Throne…
