You taught compassion and inclusion.

But the least of these, Lord,
are forgotten, mistreated, dehumanized, and jailed.

For the least of these, Lord,
You gave your life.

For the least of these, Lord,
You expect that we will follow your example.

For the least of these, Lord,
we speak out in protest and amplify their voices.

For the least of these, Lord,
we go boldly into places of Power and demand change.

For the least of these, Lord,
we proclaim our Nation’s myopia and stigmatization
of the least of these…

…but have we done enough?
