How many times do I choose to argue instead of love? Far. Too. Many. And so do you. (Just sayin. If you’re human and reading this, you know it’s true.)

The letter, written by Sullivan Ballou to his wife Sarah on the eve of the Battle of Bull Run, highlights the human cost of war. It is sobering to ponder how, throughout history, letters like this one have been written thousands of times. And yet, this letter is not without hope, for it reminds us that there will be a Day when we will see our dear ones again.
