You never know what you will find in the back hallways of a hospital…
Tonight I rounded a corner and found a custodian singing into his mop handle. To my delight, it was “Jeremiah was a bullfrog”. (For you youngsters, just Google “Three Dog Night.”)
His co-workers were laughing harder though, when the chaplain joined in on air guitar…
Jeremiah was a bullfrog (BOW-DOW-DOW!)
Was a good friend of mine (BOW-DOW-DOW!)
I never understood a single word he said…
We didn’t get to the line about drinking wine because he was too embarrassed.
“Chap, you can’t sing that song!”
“Really, why not?”
“Well, it talks about drinking wine!”
(laughter)
“Um… ever hear of water being turned into wine? Well, that’s the Dude I work for…”
(more laughter)
You know, sometimes, all you need to do is enjoy the moment. And sing the chorus…
Joy to the World
All the boys and girls
Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea
Joy to you and me!
