Friday Five: Word Association

Songbird from Reflectionary offers this week’s Friday Five for the RevGals:

It’s been a busy week for me, trying to get back into the routine after a post-Easter vacation. (How did it get to be Easter 3?) So to keep it simple, here’s a Word Association Friday Five, with a bonus twist for those feeling creative. First, for each of these five words — all of which remind me of my *most* excellent vacation — share the first word that comes to mind when you read it.

1) Airport: Dulles
There are 3 major airports near me, IAD, BWI, and DCA. Which one I choose depends on the airline I’m using, if I have to depend on Metro, and where the deals are. All of them are a royal pain to get to during rush hour!

2) Baseball: Reds!
The last baseball game I went to was actually the Frederick Keys minor league game. It’s not a sport I watch that often, to be honest. I’m definitely a football fan for OHIO STATE!

3) Art: Sculpture Garden
One of the joys of living near DC! We don’t get down there as often as we’d like, but a trip to the art museums is enjoyed by all.

4) Chocolate: Vitamin C
Daily dose required. We’ve raised two chocoholics.. Nuff said!

5) Grill: Chicken shish-ke-bobs
My favorite summer offering is putting shish-ke-bobs on the grill. They’re easy to make and eat, and the leftovers are great with pasta. I don’t really have a recipe — usually olive oil, garlic, balsamic vinegar and whatever is grillable and can be skewered.

Bonus: Tell us a story that comes to mind based on one of the word pairs.
I’ve not had enough coffee to offer anything on the bonus.

  1. I’ve got to get to D.C. again sometime. I’ve not seen the sculpture garden and my favorite museums there are the art museums. It is a special place to live just b/c of that richness…
