I pulled out my “One Year Bible” in the NLT (New Living Translation) to start the year reading the Bible in its entirety this year. On a whim, I looked over the list of translators to see if any of the names and places would be familiar to me. The places were… the people were… all men.

So I am praying with renewed vigor for my friends who are Bible scholars and who may indeed pursue PhD’s in biblical studies: Jennifer, Meredith, Susan, Crys, Laura, Elaine, Samantha, and Sara… as well as those who have made it through the gauntlet and are attempting to bring a fresh voice to biblical hermeneutics (you know who you are!)
