Saturday, Nov. 13th – To Write Love On Her Arms

You maybe have never heard of TWLOHA (To Write Love On Her Arms). I think it was the website that first highlited to me the hidden pain of those who struggle with depression, anxiety, and self injury. People who look very “normal” on the outside are struggling way down deep.

All I can think is this: “how this must hurt the heart of God.”

TWLOHA has a simple message – listen, love, and listen some more. Offer hope, encouragement and the path towards healing. BE the person who can bring that to others. Don’t judge, correct or reframe their reality… help them see a way out. The pain they feel is real — the only way they seem to be able to cope is to hurt themselves. They need the people around them to love them as they are — and then don’t let them stay that way.

I have made mistakes in the past in this area. I’m working on doing a better job of being there for people when they need me (so — you know who you are — forgive me).

Praying you find healing and peace…
