Today was a full day. While I did make it to the early service on a Daylight Savings weekend, (no small feat!), the bulk of my day was spent sorting and clearing out piles in the garage. I’ll spare you all the photos of the piles of trash, donations, and corners left to sort through, but it was a lot of work that I didn’t want to do (but did!)
While my dinner is cooking in the oven, I sat on the back porch and enjoyed one of our first lovely early spring days. The bird feeders are refilled and have constant visits from finches and sparrows and cardinals. A flock of robins worked their way across the back yard, finding whatever suits them. Wrens scold from the maple tree, and a few rabbits hopped through.
I am choosing to focus on the birds and animals because my yard is looking very rough and scraggly. It could depress me… but in time, the deadfall will get picked up, and I’ll finish the early spring trimming. Not tonight.
Life is in process right now. I’m learning to sit with the mess and just be content with a little taste of April, knowing that we will still have colder days until True Spring. And I also hold space for the next twists and turns of my life, whatever they may be. Least you think I’m finding it all peaches and roses… I’m not! But I’m trying to carve out more time to watch and wait, albeit impatiently, for TLOK (The Lord Only Knows!)

Deo Gratias!
Thanks be to God for all good gifts!
