I am on call tonight. In a four hour period, there were multiple calls and needs, and several families who had the worst day they’d ever had in a while…
It was hard.
I came home and hugged my family, grateful for their health, their humor and their willingness to share me in this chaplaincy work that I do. I’d rather have been home and had our traditional family “pizza night” (many Friday nights we get pizza, watch a movie and just chill after a long week.)
But tonight — I was given to care for other families – Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Buddhist – and to pray for hope and healing for them. I am finally decompressed enough to crawl into bed, and just saw this video on the RevGals blog. While I am NOT A FAN of amplified violin and synthesizer, there was a sweetness in this tune’s melody that blessed my heart…
So goodnight – friends in the blogosphere – and I pray you are all safe, well and hugged.
