Today’s thankfulness moment is around our employment. Bearded Brewer is well-liked and very successful at his job. He has been there for over 16 years now. They like his work. They like his skill set. They like his ability to play well with others. 🙂
I’m a resident chaplain at a local hospital, working towards my board certification as a chaplain. There are days I sure don’t like the hospital politics. But as my family members who are doctors remind me, all hospitals have politics. I’m choosing to work in and with them since it is impossible to work around them. But I love what I do. I know I am where I am supposed to be. And I’m grateful for the others in my cohort, and the highly experienced chaplains who include me in ministry assignments and give me a lot of encouragement and helpful feedback.
It’s a blessing in today’s economy to have a job with benefits, (well – my husband does… I have jack). It’s also a blessing to have a job that is even in one’s field of expertise! So, I’m thankful.
