Thanksgiving Challenge: Day One

The challenge: to reflect on all of the things I am thankful for as Thanksgiving approaches this week, and Advent begins next Sunday.

I am thankful for all the ways that God has provided for me in the last year. Bearded Brewer still has a job, a good one, with benefits for the family. We have never been hungry. We have not faced eviction. We have health insurance and access to health care. I am cared for by the Infinite One in ways that are too numerous to count. I am blessed beyond measure.

Forgive my selfish whining, God, when I forget how much You care for me.

29 What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. 30 And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.  [Matthew 10:29-30]
