First, we had a birthday celebration for Reedy Girl…

She celebrated 15 years on the planet on Friday . We managed to bake her a chocolate cake with chocolate icing (both homemade). The irony here is that she is the baker extraordinaire of the family… And it took us TWO tries to get a cake that was quasi-edible. The frosting (a chocolate butter cream) turned out great.
I’ve decided that the glare from the candles is the camera joining me in my disbelief that she is THAT old!
The next day we had a full day, but a fun one…
We had our usual morning work out at Tai Chi class.
My knees thanked me for stopping after a 90 minute work out. (…after which Reedy Girl practiced a little sword form and found that even a wooden sword is very heavy when you have to move it slowly and gracefully!)
After we cleaned up from Tai Chi, we had a fantastic dim sum lunch with some of The Johnnie’s friends (who were — not surprisingly — also Johnnies!) We enjoyed our time together nomming mass quantities of great food!
After a bit of a food coma, we had the usual weekend chores, tasks and to-do lists…
I stopped to admire the flowers, swing in the hammock, and generally get renewed for the week ahead.
Give thanks to the LORD,
for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever.
(Psalm 136:1)
