This year I’m using the inspiration from ReThinkChurch.org for my Advent blogging. I hope to post (via Pinterest and Facebook) a photo-a-day based on their suggested calendar. The idea is simple: meditate on a single word that has an Advent theme. Take a picture of something that reminds you of that word. It doesn’t have to be a perfect photo; earlier this year during Lent when I participated in a similar exercise, many of my photos were a little blurry.
Taking one word a day helps me focus on an aspect of the coming celebration of Christmas. If my track record is any predictor, I won’t make a posting every day. But I hope to do as many as I can. As I post the photos, I’ll also link them here. And, as I find music, art, poetry and other works which speak to me about the season of Advent, I’ll be adding them too.
Play along if you’d like! It’s easy. If you don’t want to create your own blog post, you can just post a picture on Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest. Tag it rethinkChurch and/or rethinkChristmas.
